May Fong Robinson (MayFong) is blessed with artistic talent. She is a digital artist who is fond of the traditional approach and was born in Taiwan (Taipei) but later her family moved to Canada. Drawing was something that she has always enjoyed since her childhood. She discontinued her passion due to some other matters, until some 2-3 years ago when she came across Deviant Art website, which acted as a stimulus for her. She did a self study to understand the new way of making art pieces. After sometime she started using the Wacom Tablet and Painter Software. She worked hard and studied as many tutorials as she could to learn and bring improvement in her work. She started using Photoshop later. Her efforts have bore fruits for her and her work is appreciated by a many today. Her portfolio could be seen on deviantART.
Beside the computer technology (Photoshop), she uses graphite pencil, color pencil, and all sorts of pencils. She has made portraits of famous people, both men and women, including actresses including Ashwarya Rai’s, Liz Tailor, Anne Hathaway, Malrylin Manore, etc. Has made some portrait of Avatars character as well.
My personal favorite is Anne Hathaway’s portrait. It is STUNNING! It is a painting and air brushing piece. It looks so real, the texturing of hair is simply EMACULATE! Skin tone and shaded, the silver jewelry and ornaments, the color of her garment, and above all, the freshness and elegant smile on the subject’s face have accentuated the actress features very beautifully.
“Serenity” is her fantasy character portrait of Chinese princes. Apart from the brilliant texturing, shading, skin tone and other intricate details, I personally like the way she has made her garment with blue and gold. Hair, background and jewelry…she has handled all the intricacies so well!
Apart from the renowned female actresses, she has made portrait of “Sumatran Tiger”, male martial art expert/players, etc, which look very real!
