Working with adoptable animals is a very important part of the work I do with my photography. While living in the Tri-Cities in Washington, I worked with the Benton-Franklin Humane Society and the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter. Now that I’ve moved to Tucson, I’ve begun working with local rescue groups including the Arizona Greyhound Rescue. Last year an estimated 3,600,000 cats and dogs were euthanized in the United States because there were not enough willing homes for them. Still we’ve made huge progress towards eliminating the number of animals euthanized over the last few decades and I believe we are now close to the point that cats and dogs will no longer be euthanized for lack of resources.
In addition to working with local adoptable animals, I am proud to be working with the new non-profit organization called HeARTs Speak. HeARTs Speak was founded with the expectation that visual artists can make a very real difference in helping adoptable animals find homes.
